I found some sloped reverse ramps and 1x2 plates's nicely worked to reinforce these (and looked better too).Įrror: Step 197, the 2x4 plate is asked to slot into a spot. Strong Recommendation: Step 139: These were really weak and the front barely held. Style choice: Step 70 & 138 & 176: These 1x3 slopes also come in 2x3, I replaced the 1 width with 2 width where I could. Style choice: Around step 33, I added 1x1 clip plate with a short black rod to serve as 'hand rails'. Hmm, let me see if I can remember, I did most of the build on 1/1/19. Was a really fun experience, and took about 7hrs to build.
The designer was so kind as to include a mini cyclops and seamoth, as well as a much needed display stand. I made a few changes to strengthen the outer skin structure, revise the front of the 'side pontoons' and had to back-track when some of the build steps weren't quite possible, but those only made me appreciate how much work was put into the ingenious way this thing is made. ~1550 parts, cost around $200 usd all said and done. Huge thanks to u/jmsbd07 and his posting of this amazing lego design and for their fantasitc 'Easy Buy' and 3d instruction viewer: So I finally got the last parts and completed my build of the subnautica cyclops!
